Lamisil (terbinafine) is an antifungal drug used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails, including athlete's foot. Terbinafine hydrochloride 100mg/5ml cream is used to treat athlete's foot (tinea pedis) and jock itch (tinea cruris). It can be applied topically or dermally (between the toes) for nail and skin infections.

• Flu-like symptoms.
• A painful or prolonged burning or stinging in the skin.
• A skin rash that will not go away.
• A skin condition called 'gastritis' or the feeling of painful or prolonged discharge from the vagina or anus
• Passing less than 3 days or passing more than 3 months after stopping terbinafine.

How Should Terbinafine Be Taken?

Terbinafine tablets are taken at recommended intervals to achieve better control of the infection.

Each tablet contains 250mg of the active ingredient, which is equivalent to 10 Tablets in one course of treatment.

The recommended dose is one tablet taken at the first sign of fungal growth, followed by one or two tablets if the patient is experiencing symptoms of infections such as itching, burning or tingling of the skin, or if the infection is not cured.

This medicine is usually taken twice daily for several weeks at a time, with symptoms usually noticeable within a few days of taking the full course of treatment. It is important to take the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if the patient's symptoms improve, to ensure your infection is fully cleared.

Terbinafine tablets are not suitable for everyone, including:- people with active liver disease,- people with porphyria (sheep) or a history of any blood-related conditions such as sickle cell anaemia
